Our 3-Day Ghana Starter Pack is the Perfect Introduction to the Culture and the History of Ghana.
A gem of Africa’s west coast, Ghana is known for its beautiful beaches just east of the Ivory Coast, its diverse wildlife, and its beautiful lush forests. Palace Travel, the Africa destination specialist brings you authentic travel experiences. Our Ghana trips are crafted to provide you with cultural insights as the natives experience it, with nearly undiluted naturalness. We outline the specific details of our Ghana Starter Pack so you can sample the unique Ghanaian hospitality.
Day 1 – Arrival in the City of Accra, Ghana
The first day of our three-day starter pack brings us to Accra, the capital of Ghana. According to Time Magazine’s list of The World’s Greatest Places of 2021, this is actually one of the 10 greatest places in all of Africa! They described it as “a hub for creativity and culture.” Considering that, it makes for the perfect spot to kick off our tour of Ghana. There were 10 total destinations in Africa that made their list, which you can learn more about in our previous blog post.
We begin the city tour of Accra on a scenic drive through the vast, stunning campus of the University of Ghana, Legon. Our tour then takes us through the Jamestown Community, which is one of the most historic neighborhoods in the city. Here, history resides on every corner. Next, we head to the busy Fish Market at the seashore, where fishermen can be found docking their boats and selling their catch. The final stop on day one of our tour in the late afternoon is at the Brazil House, where we learn about the seven Afro-Brazilian families who returned to Ghana in 1836 to settle.
The rest of the day is spent at your own leisure, exploring the culture and history more or just relaxing. We’ll stay overnight at the Urbano Hotel, which includes breakfast in the morning.
Day 2 – From Accra to Cape Coast & Elmina
After breakfast, the second day takes us from Accra to Cape Coast. Along the way, we will visit Independence Square, where you will see the enclosed flame of African Liberation. Next, we will visit the beautiful gardens and museum of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. We will then arrive at Cape Coast at lunchtime. In the late afternoon, our tour takes us to Cape Coast Castle, which is home to the “Door of No Return”, where millions of Africans saw their last glimpse of the home before being taken away to the Americas in slavery. Lastly, we will go on an evening guided tour of Elmina, an ancient town tucked along the Atlantic Ocean and a perfect spot for photographers.
We’ll stay overnight at the Coconut Grove Beach Resort, which includes dinner that night and breakfast in the morning.
Day 3 – From Elmina to Kakum National Park and back to Accra to Depart
After breakfast, we visit the famous Kakum National Park where we will take a brief walking tour along the forest, offering the chance to see the beautiful wildlife including monkeys and butterflies. Kakum has Africa’s only aerial walkway through the tree canopy, which stretches for 1,000 feet over seven bridges and at heights of up to 150 feet above the ground! We can cap off these memorable cultural thrills with an optional activity – A visit to the Global Mama’s for a workshop making tie-dye clothing as a fun takeaway souvenir. Finally, we’ll return to Accra.
The rest of the https://kerrygold.com/buy-ivermectin-in-usa/ evening is spent at your own leisure, or transfer to the airport for your flight.
