  1. Day 1:  ARRIVE IN ACCRA -GHANA(Thursday,August 22 )

    AKWAABA!!! A HEARTY WELCOME TO THE GOLD COAST!!!

    On arrival at Kotoka International Airport, our expert Cultural guide will meet, assist and transfer you to your hotel in our private air-conditioned vehicle. Once you have checked in, your guide who will be with you throughout your stay, will brief you on what to expect during your time in Ghana

  2. Day 2: INTRODUCTORY TOUR OF ACCRA (Friday August 23)

    Welcome to the bustling city of Accra; a blend of modern buildings and structures which existed during the colonial times. The 120-year-old city offers you unique display of historical landmarks including New Town, Ga Mashie, We have exciting activities and visits lined up for the day as follows:

    – We will start the day off with a visit the W.E.B DuBois former home, now a museum and Centre for the Study of Africanism.

    – We visit the newly renovated Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park for the first President of Ghana – Dr. Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah. The 5.4-acre facility – which was built in 1992 to honor, promote and preserve the legacies of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah has never seen any major facelift until this one. The old facility housed the mortal remains of Nkrumah and his wife Fathia and had a museum that had on display objects from various stages of Nkrumah’s life, as well as other relevant things.

    – How about trying out your bargaining skills at Accra Arts & Crafts Centre, the largest open market in Accra while you shop for some stunning authentic African wear, arts, and crafts as souvenirs for family and friends back home, you will have the opportunity to experience some of Accra’s most authentic shopping outlets.

    – We end the day with a drive through the Independence Square where Ghana hosts most of her national ceremonies and also stop at the Black Star Square for some amazing photo memoirs.

    -We will also have the chance to visit the Woodin and GTP shops on the Osu Oxford Street selling authentic African Fabrics for your custom-made clothing

    We return to the hotel where a local seamstress will be waiting to take your measurements for custom-made clothing. Welcome Dinner with cultural performance this evening.

  3. Day 3: ACCRA | ABURI | KUMASI (Saturday, August 24)

    Following a sumptuous breakfast, we depart check out of the hotel and depart for Kumasi. Enjoy a scenic drive through the cooler Aburi mountains where we visit the Aburi Botanical Gardens which has both aesthetic and educational experience. Look out for Rita Marley’s compound when coming up the Mountain. Enjoy quad biking at the Countryside Quads before we continue to Kumasi. Arrive Kumasi early evening and transfer to your hotel. Dinner at the hotel.

  4. Day 4: KUMASI (Sunday, August 25)

    Enjoy a leisure morning. We further explore the legends of the famous Ashantis, whose legacies are still evident today on the following visits:

    • Adanwomase will be our first craft village where you’ll see how the famous Kente Cloth is handmade on looms in a time-honored tradition passed down through generations. See the Kente styles and the opportunity to make purchases. you may pay a courtesy call to the paramount chief of this community.
    • You will continue to the village of Ntonso where Artisans hand-stamp patterns on Cotton cloth to make Adinkra Textiles. Black-on-Black and Black-on-Red Adinkra Cloth is worn for funerals and other solemn occasions; learn how the Black Dye is made in the village from the bark of trees and creates your own Adinkra sash to take home. You may also purchase large pieces of the Adinkra Cloth handmade in the village.
    • We end the day’s adventure at the Manhyia Palace, official residence of Ashanti Kings (Asantehene) until 1974, now a museum containing treasured items relating to the Ashanti Kingdom. Experience the night life of Kumasi at the private night club located right inside the hotel.

  5. Day 5: KUMASI | ASSIN MANSO | ELMINA (Monday,  August 26)

    Following a leisure morning and breakfast, we check out of the hotel and drive to Cape Coast, which has played a very significant role in the Transatlantic Slave trade. We make a stop on the way to visit Assin Manso Slave River or “Donkor Nsuo”, the burial site of two former slaves from the U.S. and Jamaica whose remains were re-interred in August 1998 during Ghana’s first Emancipation Day celebration. You will see the ‘Slave River’ where captured Africans were washed before being confined in the Slave castles to await shipment to the Americas and the Caribbean. We arrive in Elmina late afternoon, and transfer to the resort. Enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure. Dinner at the resort.

  6.  Day 6: ELMINA & VICINITY(Tuesday, August 27)

    Following a leisure breakfast, you will visit Elmina Castle, originally known as St. George’s Castle. This castle was the first European structure built in Sub-Saharan Africa. Explore the grounds and rooms full of haunting history. At the Castle, you will go through the “Fihankra” Fihankra is a ceremony which seeks to reconnect people of African descent, who have been lost due to the transatlantic slave trade, to the motherland.

    This ceremony reconnects returnees with the cultural and spiritual ties that had been denied them for centuries.

    The final part of Fihankra includes a naming ceremony conducted at a local chief’s palace and you will receive a certificate of authentication with a traditional name. Return to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.

  7.  Day 7: ELMINA | ODUMASE ABRAFO | ACCRA (Wednesday, August 28)

    After a restful night and a good breakfast, we check out the hotel and head back to Accra. Make a detour to visit Kakum National Park. Kakum is one of Ghana’s most famous parks. Take a brief walking tour on the forest floor; see birds, butterflies and perhaps catch a glimpse of the forests over 40 species of mammals including monkeys and the reclusive forest elephant.

    Proceed to the canopy walk. Kakum is home to Africa’s only aerial walkway through the tree canopy, a 1000-foot-long and seven-bridge walkway with viewing platforms that reach heights of over 150 feet above ground.

    Upon arrival in Accra, you will be transferred to the hotel to freshen up for your farewell beach party at the hotel. This evening, there will be a thrilling farewell party on the beach (for groups of 10+).

  8. Day 8: ACCRA|DEPART (Thursday, August 29)

    Today is at leisure and yours to enjoy. OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES (AT CLIENT’S COST): The day is open for the following optional activities:

    •  Therapeutic beauty spa/massage (30mins) at the hotel.
    •  Group/Individual photo shoot session with flying dresses.
    • An exciting volleyball game. The seamstress will bring all custom-made clothing for fitting and alterations where necessary.

    Your driver and guide will be available to assist you last minute shopping at Osu Oxford Street, GTP, Printex, Woodin Shop, Global Mamas or Arts & Crafts Centre. You will be transferred to the airport in time for your onward flight.
